We're not only going to talk about the Apple Vision Pro and demo it and show you all what it looks like to use it, but we're also going to play Soulbound on the Apple Vision Pro, which kind of just makes you rethink how games should be built and how we should build games, so that's coming later on the stream.

And here's what we did. This is also cool, right? We signed up to their competition. We took our browser game, which we've been building using GameMaker.

You will know we've been building our game using GameMaker using the HTML export. And with a little bit of tweaking and some really hard work from some of the engineers, we're able to port the game into Discord without having to create a separate build. So it's the same browser build that you have, except we do switch some of the features off.

Uh, just because of, uh, uh, we haven't, there's some things we need to do in Discord to make it run a little bit better, right? Um, what this now means is, this is the best bit, right? Listen to this. We need to put it on our website. It is actually on our website. If you have a look on our, in our news section, there is an area, I'm screaming.

This is so funny. Okay. All right. I've been, I've been catfished. I, it's showing blog posts that are private. You can see that I actually wrote the, the blog post for if we didn't win. It's like that Kanye moment, like, everyone wants to know what would Webb do if we didn't win. I would have put out an announcement saying we're the runners up, that's what I would have done.

But yeah, it's right here. There's a blog post talking about us being crowned the grand winner, and you can go and read that, which is sick. But as I was saying, what does this mean? This is probably my favorite part. This is my favorite part of the whole thing, right? This is what Discord said on their website.

They said Soulbound stole the hearts of our judges and users in the Discord Town Hall. Throughout the two week voting period, Soulbound consistently held over 50 percent of the votes and saw the most repeat usage among any category winner in the server. Our judges are very excited about the potential of an MMO activity on Discord and look forward to working with the Soulbound team as they add more social elements for players to enjoy with their friends.

around 29 million daily active users. And it's something like 160 million users or something crazy. But it's a lot. It's a lot. 30 million daily active users. And, um, So winning this is going to open the door for us to be able to bring the game to millions of gamers on Discord. So that's obviously the first thing, right?

Now, a lot of people have asked, does this mean that we're going to switch to Web 2? There's been a lot of discussion about this, like Web 2, Web 3, like, are we going to forget Web 3 and just do this, like, just do, um, just do, uh, Web 2 and, and build the game? No, not at all. We're not, we're not forgetting web three.

That's never going to happen. All right. So we believe very much that web three is the next iteration of the internet. We very much believe in a lot of different blockchain technologies. And we believe that video games are one of the best, um, applications, use cases for blockchain. I don't think there's been many teams that have really worked it out yet.

I think there's a lot of uncertainty about how that should be done, and I've talked a lot in the streams about how I think we should do it. And I'm gonna start dropping some more source over the, over the coming weeks. There's a lot of information on our podcast, which gives us loads, gives you loads of information about what we think about blockchain gaming.

This does not mean we're gonna get rid of blockchain gaming. I do think, though, in chat, you know, Haiki, let me know what you think here, but I personally do think there's a lot of hate for Web3 and blockchain in the gaming space, which makes it really hard to bring gamers into a game, regardless of how much blockchain and Web3 is taking place.

So our strategy is very clear, like, we're trying not to upset people by having blockchain and Web3 written all over our website, when really the game isn't like a blockchain Web3 game. It's nothing like any other Web3 or blockchain game that's currently out there. It's nothing like it, right? We can all agree that.

We've done this roguelike experience, different rooms, different stages, a couple of teasers of boss fights.

But the Summer Siege is really about expanding the world. This will be the first time you're going to venture outside of DSAT. There's going to be different hubs, different areas of the world. be different combat instances all around the world that you can be able to explore, different skills you can be able to, to, uh, skill up.

We're thinking we've got farming. We're not thinking, we know. We've got farming, we've got fishing, we've got hacking, we've got foraging, we've got combat, and a few other ones as well taking place. We're also going to be introducing some of the pretty exciting stuff around land and how you're going to be able to place your land In the world, and we've got some really innovative, innovative technology and a cool approach to how we do that, which I think you're all going to really enjoy, um, getting a scan.

And, and, and what's so crazy about this is like, I didn't realize this when, when I got it, but it, you just look at where you want to go and it will like, I want to go to rules. So it always spawns in the bottom right and that way it's not in front of your like vision. But if I put my hand by my wrist, nah, it doesn't, it doesn't get tired. I, I think maybe it needs like, maybe they needed an X iteration. But yeah, there's no, there's no input lag at all.

I mean, you can see there's no input lag.

The only thing we're missing is that the nipple doesn't have a very good dead zone. Like it's just a bit, it's a bit too Finicky. But it's such a weird experience because you're looking at the mobs as they come near you which is, is, and it's automatically gonna attack where the mouse is aiming, which is where you're looking.

So I honestly feel like we've built the, just the, the most incredible game. I mean, we've done it. Yeah. When you, after using a keyboard, a mouse, it's just like, it's, it's different though. 'cause you can power use with the keyboard a mouse because you are used to using a cat, keyboard, mouse. But, but once you get the hang of this, and I'm starting to get better with it.

I can see how this is just the future. Like, it's so, it's so obviously the future.

But, you know, we haven't done anything, right? This is fully out of the box. Which just makes me think, like, I don't know what we were thinking, but obviously the guys at Apple knew that, um, a lot of games, mobile games, have joysticks like this. So it's very easy for you to, you know, have the, the joystick thing.

But you just, yeah, you just aim by watching. Why is it so expensive? I know, it's crazy, but don't worry, it's a dev kit. Like, let's be honest, this, this right here, this is a dev kit. They've, they've done this because there's no apps on the, on the Vision Pro yet, there's hardly any experiences, and they've built, they've built this expensive dev kit so that people like us will buy one and, and use it and go, oh my god, this is insane.

That I would sit there and play Stardew Valley. Like, Stardew Valley in that would be insane. Guaranteed insane. Like, because it's just going to be so easy to do stuff. And it's going to be so cool. Playing at Stardew, watching a bit of Twitch, doing some other stuff. It's a good comparison with the anime though, right?

You still watch anime, you don't want to watch 3D movies. They've both got their merits, they're both good in their own rights. I genuinely, genuinely, genuinely believe That, that is, that's just, that's just awesome. That's awesome, and it's not gonna, it's not the death of 2D, it's not the, if anything, it's actually just like, that's gonna be making it even more fun to play those kind of games.

It's just gonna take a couple of years, I reckon. I reckon they're gonna need a couple of years. Because the, and do you know what I don't get about it? Is, there's an M, there's an M2 chip in this, right? So they've put, they've put an Apple M2 chip in it. And it's got all the power. It's got fans in it. You can feel the fans blowing on your face, keeping you cool.

And the quality of the build is insane. You've got this, this eye seal, which is just magnetic. Absolutely amazing. And then you've got this insert, which they fit for you. But that's also just magnetic. And so the whole thing is Yeah, once it gets to that size, awesome, but it's all just beautifully made.

Like it really feels like an incredible piece of equipment and the strap is, you know, beautiful and the battery is also beautiful, like really nice. It's hot at the moment, but I've just had this plugged in the whole time. Um, realistically you get an hour, an hour and a half max if you're watching a film, if that, like, you know, two hours if you're doing something, but I don't know what you're going to be doing on that thing.

Like, It's um, um, California based tech giant Apple have made the strategic decision to halt the advancement of high end augmented reality headset, the Vision Pro 2, opting instead to prioritize the development of more cost effective models set to debut late 2025. I get it. I 100 percent get that. Like, cost effective, if they make that cost effective, oh my god.

And I don't get why they put all of the technology in this because everyone has got an iPhone. And an iPhone's got a chip that can probably run this stuff. Maybe it can't. I don't know if this runs a bog standard M2. I'm not sure, but, but, oh, wow. Yokelite lenses. Real life Yokelite lenses. Exactly. Yeah. Is it uncomfortable in my face?

That was not uncomfortable. I've got this other strap which gives you a little bit of support. This kind of goes on your head like this. This is gonna, like that. And I didn't use it because it looks kind of lame. Um, but it does give you better support. It is, it's a lot better support. Um, it doesn't feel like as much of a hug, but it puts a bit more of a weight on my, on my front of my face, on my cheeks, opposed to being on the top of my head, which is where a lot of the, you know, a lot of the, the, the, The pressure comes in when it's on the top of my head.

So yeah crazy absolutely crazy cost effective. It's still gonna be a bootload. Yeah But even if it was like a fat like if it was 1500 bucks, right? You pay 1500 bucks for an iphone people pay 1500 bucks for an iphone. No problem If it was 1500 bucks, it was 50 cheaper, which in my opinion was like get rid of the phone get rid of all that and just have it as like You may look at the size of the battery guys, right battery iphone You It's, it's, it's, it's, it's the size of an iPhone, it's bigger than an iPhone, and you imagine how much battery power you get out, you can run this all day.

That thing ain't happening, ain't happening, like you're not running this all day. It's a huge amount of power being used, huge amount of power. More than a MacBook, think about a MacBook. A MacBook has 11 hours of battery life, right, if you got a new one. That thing, not even 2 hours, kind of says it all.

There's a lot going on there, there's a lot happening behind the scenes for sure, like something in that, the computation required to do the spatial tracking, I reckon it's. Burning that CCPU and GPU like crazy, but it's just incredibly impressive. I'm just blown away. Speechless. Absolutely incredible. Um, my guy had bought a PFP of 4K.
