Now on Mac, Twitch Drops, and 17 Language Localisations

Læsetid: 3 minutter

Hello Pioneers, big news for the Mac family: Soulbound: Online is now live on Mac. Open Steam on your Mac, hit install, and you’re in. Same account, same characters, same world. Log in on your Mac at lunch and pick up on your PC tonight. It’s fully cross-platform, so you can party up with your PC friends from day one.

That’s not all. Twitch Drops are live with a full cosmetic set and a pet to earn, and the game now plays in 17 languages. Details on all three below.

This has been one of the most requested things since launch and we’re thrilled to finally open the doors. Welcome in, Mac Pioneers.

Mac build is in alpha

We’re launching the Mac build as an alpha. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, but it’s new and it has had a fraction of the testing hours the PC build has had. We fully expect some bugs we haven’t seen yet.

If something breaks, please reach out to support and tell us what happened, which Mac you’re on and which macOS version.

Cross-platform first

Soulbound has always been designed as a cross-platform game. One account, one world, playable anywhere, on any device. Mac is the next step and it won’t be the last. We’ve got more cross-platform news coming very soon, so keep an eye on this space.

Twitch Drops are live

Watch Soulbound: Online on Twitch, earn in-game cosmetics. Our first campaign, Tako Sensei Drops, is running now and ends on 16 October 2026. Watch time adds up across any Soulbound: Online stream with Drops enabled, and each piece unlocks as you go:

  • 30 minutes: Tako Sensei Head
  • 1 hour: Tako Sensei Pants
  • 2 hours: Tako Sensei Coat
  • 4 hours: Tako Sensei Tentacles
  • 6 hours: Crawling Spectacle, the Tako pet

Watch the full six hours and you walk away with the complete Tako Sensei set and a pet to crawl along beside you.

How to get them, three steps:

  • Go to drops.soulbound.tools and sign in through Steam, using the account you play Soulbound with. We only read your Steam ID.
  • Connect the Twitch account you watch with. You only do this once.
  • Watch any Soulbound: Online stream with Drops enabled, claim each Drop on Twitch when it unlocks, and the reward is mailed to your in-game mailbox within 24 hours. Open the mailbox and press Take rewards.

Good to know: rewards go to the character you played most recently, in each region you’ve played in, so play the character you want to dress before you claim. If you claimed a Drop before linking, it’s not lost. Link your accounts and it will still be delivered, for up to 14 days after the campaign ends. Streamers, turn Drops on for your Soulbound streams and your viewers earn while they watch.

Localisation: work in progress

Alongside the Mac launch, we’ve also quietly switched on localisation. Soulbound now plays in 17 languages: German, French, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Italian, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Turkish, Russian, Indonesian, plus a rougher first pass of Japanese and Traditional Chinese. Set your language in Steam and fully restart the game to switch.

This is very much a work in progress and we’re treating it as an alpha too. There is an enormous amount of text in Soulbound: every item, relic, achievement, quest objective and tens of thousands of lines of dialogue, all fitted into pixel-art UI designed around English, and all of it changes as we update quests. Right now you will see some text that wraps badly or gets clipped, some strings still in English including dialogue choices, some missing characters in one of our title fonts (especially for non-Latin scripts), and the odd translation that picked the wrong meaning of a word. Japanese and Chinese are the roughest and are getting the most attention.

Based on your feedback we decided it was better to get it out now, in Early Access, than to hold it back until it’s perfect. A big group of translators has been working through this with us and that work continues. We’ll be shipping localisation fixes in every patch. If you spot something wrong, tell us the language, where you saw it, and a screenshot if you can.

Enjoy the Mac build, go earn your Tako, and see you in game, wherever and in whatever language you’re playing.
