Update 5.20 – Cosmetic Store

This patch introduces a new cosmetic store system which will feature weekly rotating items and cosmetics. Expect daily updates, with new items coming and going as we expand on the cosmetic world of Soulbound allowing you all to get creative and build your perfect Pioneer.

We’ve also carried out a massive rework of farming UX, with a snappier feedback and more engaging effects.

Features

  • A new store has been implemented, accessible through a button underneath the mini-map.
  • New music tracks have been implemented for the Eastern Reach Dungeon, enhancing the auditory experience for players across various stages. [TECH-9715]
  • A selection of existing and new cosmetics and pets have been added to the in-game store. [ART-3469]
  • Added a confirmation prompt when using home portals in dungeons to prevent accidental exits. This change ensures players do not unintentionally leave a dungeon run. [TECH-9859]
  • Seeds can now be planted directly from your bag in the order from top left to bottom right, without needing to equip them, simplifying the planting process and reducing confusion for new players. If a seed does not meet the level requirement, it will be skipped, and the next available seed will be planted. Trowels no longer hold seeds, seeds within trowels at the time of the update have been moved to player banks. [TECH-9648]
  • Introduced the ability to pause dungeons in single-player mode, accessible via a button at the top left of the screen or by pressing the Escape key. The pause menu provides options to adjust settings, leave the dungeon, or resume gameplay. The introduction includes a cooldown mechanism for party play to prevent abuse. [TECH-9649]

Improvements

  • New SoulBit Icons have been implemented into the UI, enhancing the visual elements related to SoulBit currency. [TECH-9936]
  • Added a restock countdown timer to show the time until the next restock for each crop in the vendor’s inventory. This helps players to know when new items will be available for purchase. [TECH-9886]
  • Added pioneer permits to the currency bar, displaying a 60/60 gauge with a tooltip indicating the next restock time. [TECH-9898]
  • Implemented a feature where the number of crops harvested is visually represented by items appearing around the base of the plant, matching the yield size. [TECH-9897]
  • Vendors will now display items sorted by default with the lowest price at the top and the highest at the bottom, based solely on gold cost. [TECH-9916]
  • Added a symbol on bank tabs to indicate items can be dropped into them when dragged over. [TECH-9290]
  • Enhanced the experience of picking up gold by adding visual and sound effects, including unique particle effects and sound design based on the size of gold stacks. This creates a more immersive and satisfying moment for players when collecting gold. [TECH-9941]
  • Removed the click to move functionality in dungeons, players now must use WASD keys or the mobile joystick to navigate. [TECH-9748]
  • Introduced a countdown phase in matchmaking that allows players to set their ready status. If all players are ready, the dungeon starts; otherwise, players return to their previous lobbies. [TECH-9832]
  • Improved the nighttime loading screen animation for a more polished visual experience. [ART-3414]
  • All cosmetics have been tagged as unsellable to prevent them from being sold accidentally in the store. [DES-2601]
  • Reduced the portal spawn time in Relic and Chest rooms, with treasure room portals now appearing 1 second after chest opening (down from 10 seconds) and Relic room portals appearing immediately upon relic selection (down from 0.5 seconds). [TECH-9954]
  • Improved farming interaction responsiveness by adjusting the debounce logic, allowing players to initiate actions more immediately after the previous ones, and ensured tooltips only appear when actions can be performed. [TECH-9939]
  • Improved the farming tooltip by displaying exact growth times when under one minute and enhancing the design for a more engaging user experience. [TECH-9940]
  • Improved the relic view animation to automatically reveal relics after 2 seconds. The timer now pauses during the animation to prevent negative impacts on gameplay. [TECH-9640]
  • Improved depth sorting for crop popups by making each popup an individual object, allowing them to have unique depth and appear correctly behind plants when necessary. [TECH-9943]
  • Improved the Sell Vendor UI by making the selected item darker for clearer indication that it has been selected for sale. Additionally, items can now be added to the sell grid by clicking on them in the sell vendor UI. [TECH-9900]

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the Auto-equip notification was inconsistently displayed when receiving many multi-equip items at the same time. [TECH-9961]
  • Fixed an issue where the death UI would not appear after reloading the game following a crash, leaving players unable to leave the death state. [TECH-9520]
  • Fixed an issue where boss health bars would not disappear and overlapped the end screen upon player death. [TECH-9709]
  • Fixed an issue where cinema bars did not fade out other UI elements when entering a dungeon beacon, ensuring proper display of graphical user interface elements. [TECH-9868]
  • Fixed an issue where projectile bots would shoot multiple times in quick succession upon spawning. [TECH-9815]
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when the Dungeon Finder invite notification was active and a player transitioned between areas. [TECH-9935]
  • Fixed an issue where players could move during farming actions. Now, movement is locked until the farming animation is complete, ensuring more accurate interaction with farm plots. [TECH-9896]
  • Fixed an issue where mobs were missing hitboxes, causing abilities like the sword to miss targets. All enemies now have suitable hitboxes to ensure abilities function as intended. [TECH-9907]
  • Fixed an issue where bosses and regular enemies would slide as if stuck in their hit animation after receiving damage. [TECH-9945]
  • Fixed an issue where picking up items in a dungeon would incorrectly open the chat window and start typing when players move. [QA-2589]
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when attempting to view Technology abilities while owning none, as reported by user 01JX5225MRGRW5N0NTXFPHCY66. [TECH-9693]
  • Fixed an issue where the autocast for the sword ability triggered too quickly, causing inconsistencies with swing hitbox and range, particularly when upgraded with relics. [TECH-9852]
