Game Update Overview

This release brings a diverse suite of enhancements designed to enrich both gameplay and the overall player experience. Players will notice significant upgrades in audio feedback, achievement progression, and UI accessibility—all aimed at delivering more immersive sound design, clearer quest tracking, and smoother customization options. The update also introduces innovative new features, such as the ability to consume items while moving, an emote wheel configuration system, and an exclusive ‘Librarian’ armor set for community contributors. Behind the scenes, our team has improved dungeon stability, refined reward structures, and addressed a variety of issues to ensure a seamless adventure throughout the world of Soulbound.

Features

  • Implemented unique sound effects for skill level-ups and quest progression, enriching player’s audio feedback for progression. [GAME-3732]
  • Implemented automatic reward requirements for current achievements, ensuring achievements are automatically unlocked on player login if the required level has been achieved. [DES-1520]
  • Added detailed unlock requirements for all dungeons, enhancing clarity on how to access each one. Players will now see specific quest prerequisites for unlocking Tier 1-3 dungeons. [DES-1527]
  • Added a feature to display player level and a skills button in the player’s profile, making it more interactive and allowing levels to be shown as a flex. Also, resolved an alignment issue with the gold display in the player’s bag. [TECH-7662]
  • Implemented a feature allowing players to configure their emote wheel by selecting which emotes appear from a list of all unlocked emotes. [TECH-7253]
  • Implemented quest requirements UI allowing players to click on quest locations to view them on the map and click on completed quests to see further requirements within the same view. [TECH-7359]
  • Introduced the new ‘Librarian’ cosmetic armour set, featuring head, chest, and legs pieces, available exclusively to players who contribute edits to the community wiki. This set embodies themes of knowledge and wisdom with an anime-inspired design. [ART-2789]
  • Introducing ‘Librarian Credits’ as a new in-game currency for use with Wiki-related transactions. [DES-1087]
  • Players can now move while consuming food and potions, reducing downtime and enhancing gameplay flow. [FEATURE-148]

Improvements

  • The weapon upgrade UI now correctly displays the stats for the next rarity upgrade, and the stat comparison display shows the upgraded stats instead of duplicating current stats. [GAME-3634]
  • Improved visual clarity for SMGs’ high fire rate by implementing damage number tallying for hits in quick succession and reducing the size of damage numbers. Crits and heavy hits now appear larger and are displayed separately to maintain their impact. [GAME-3610]
  • Polished the floppy disk mount sprite to final quality, including a new 16×16 inventory icon. [ART-2787]
  • Modified collective achievement rewards to grant flat currency values instead of using loot tables. This change affects all current achievements, simplifying the reward system. [DES-1511]
  • Improved the player profile inspect functionality to remain open when the player moves away. [TECH-7664]
  • Improved the visual clarity of boss encounters by tuning down the damage state flashing. Bosses will now react to hits with a more subtle squish and flash effect, making them feel tankier and less chaotic during battles. [GAME-3658]

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where a player’s disconnection in the Eastern Reach dungeon would lead to the party getting stuck, causing a crash when proceeding to the next stage. [TECH-7832]
  • Fixed an issue where players could not interact with portals or chests inside dungeons using the mouse due to an invisible GUI element blocking input in the central area. [TECH-7780]
  • Resolved an issue where the Guild Contract task ‘Herbal Uprising’ was not registering progress due to the task being replaced with ‘Flora Fortitude’. Players are advised to abandon the outdated task and accept the new one. [DES-1522] Submitted by player Nanao.
  • Fixed an issue where dungeon objectives sometimes did not initialize properly, causing portals to become unusable and stages to spawn enemies indefinitely. [TECH-7247, User 01JFCQT6BWE0TD4B1AA1E7ZKSV]
  • Fixed an issue where dungeons sometimes failed to load on local sessions. [TECH-7789]
  • Fixed an issue with mob limits in dungeons loading incorrectly. [TECH-7790]
  • Fixed an issue where the Cog item was not dropping from any location, preventing players from crafting essential equipment like the Sunmetal Shovel. [TECH-7854]
  • Fixed an issue where players could become stuck while mining with the mouse, caused by a desynchronization between client and server. [TECH-7411, User Gun]
  • Fixed an issue where the manufacturing station would disappear instead of returning to the inventory after being removed from an apartment. The station is now visible again in the station UI when editing the apartment. [TECH-7819] Submitted by user .karyak.
  • Fixed an issue where unread messages from station slots did not display claimable Gold rewards, as intended by game mechanics. [TECH-7776]
  • Fixed an issue where plots incorrectly displayed as being in use by another player, preventing players from managing their own plots. [TECH-7767]
  • Fixed an issue where players received an error message when attempting to use pesticide on their crops. [TECH-7757]
  • Fixed an issue where the stage counter was missing, impacting players’ ability to track progress in defeating mobs after the recent update. [TECH-7749] (Reported by: tracee)
  • Resolved an issue where crafting a steel pickaxe would not allow players to claim it from the crafting table or their in-game mail due to backend changes, and fixed the disappearance of the toolbelt tab from the user’s bag. [TECH-7746] Submitted by player Lazertitz.
  • Fixed an issue where speed potions did not provide the intended speed boost after consumption. [TECH-7464]
  • Fixed an issue where players could not unequip gear or tools from the toolbag during overworld combat, enhancing item management flexibility. [TECH-7039]
  • Fixed an issue where enemies would slide at lower movement speeds due to outdated animation associations, ensuring animations sync with speed changes. [GAME-3661]
  • Fixed an issue where Scrapclaw laser beams did not consistently deal damage to players upon contact. Adjustments were made to ensure the collision detection and damage timing are more accurate. [GAME-3682]
  • Fixed an issue where ‘En Route’ and ‘Discover X’ achievements could be repeatedly claimed by entering and exiting the respective areas, allowing for farming these achievements. [QA-2337]
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when skipping the final dialogue with the Chief at the end of the ‘Welcome to Virelda’ quest. [KUDOS-74]
  • Fixed an issue where the Rosehammer weapon had no stats. The weapon is now assigned stats similar to the Maelstrom item. [QA-2352]
  • Fixed an issue where ‘Level up’, ‘Death’, and ‘Achievement’ visual effects could still play at the location where a player died in a dungeon, improving immersion and visual consistency. [QA-2347]
  • Fixed an issue where teleporting enemies would repeatedly play their teleportation sound effect with each hit, and prevented the ability to stunlock these enemies by rapidly hitting them. [QA-2332]
  • Fixed an issue where Discord avatars appeared oversized in the party UI after leaving a dungeon. [QA-2302]
  • Fixed an issue where dungeons played the incorrect desert soundtrack upon loading into the first room instead of the correct song corresponding to the dungeon’s theme. [QA-2301]
  • Fixed an issue causing DGS crashes and temporary disruptions during quest deployments, where game visuals would misbehave and abilities were not displayed in slots in dungeon sessions. [QA-2260]

Balance Changes

  • Adjusted the processing of overdue farm economies by reducing the implicit multiplier for overtime calculation on crops and lowering the tick rate for better stability. [TECH-7779]
