🛠 Patch Notes

This patch brings a comprehensive upgrade to both the visual and functional aspects of the game. We’ve introduced exciting new features that enhance players’ customisation and navigation, such as dynamic animations and innovative teleportation and crafting systems, adding depth and flexibility to gameplay. In parallel, several quality-of-life improvements have been made in the user interface and system stability, ensuring a smoother, more intuitive experience across dungeons, crafting, and combat scenarios. Additionally, extensive bug fixes have been implemented to resolve persistent issues and glitches, while thoughtful balance adjustments fine-tune gameplay dynamics for a more engaging and fair experience. Together, these changes create a more polished, visually appealing, and robust environment, ultimately enriching the overall adventure.

🆕 Features

  • Introduced a permanent teleport item, HomeDiskV3, allowing players to teleport to Virelda every 30 minutes. The item is stored in the player’s bag, is non-droppable, and cannot be lost. [FEATURE-37]
  • Implemented mapping for more NFT items to corresponding in-game items, enhancing the integration of NFTs into the game. [TECH-7683]
  • Improved the Dungeon UI to provide clearer messaging when entering a dungeon, including status updates if loading takes longer than expected and error messages when entry fails. [TECH-7300]
  • Introduced a new Bug Vendor, located in Arcadia, where players can redeem Bug Credits for bug bounty rewards. [QUEST-664]
  • Introduced a new Bug Finder weapon set featuring pixel art sprites for a great sword, short sword, and hammer/axe. As well as full body gear. The weapon designs are glitch-style inspired by hacker aesthetics. You can earn bug credits by reporting bugs to purchase these items from the vendor. [ART-2782]
  • Added a quick exit option for players in caves, similar to dungeons, allowing them to return directly to the overworld at the cave entrance. [GAME-3166]
  • Players can now use keyboard inputs (W/S or Up/Down arrows) to select abilities to upgrade in the dungeon, enhancing user experience by allowing navigation without the mouse. [GAME-3575]

📈 Improvements

  • Improved dungeon stability by reducing redundant dungeon configuration fetches and implementing retry logic for failed fetches, ensuring faster load times and preventing players from getting stuck due to fetch failures. [GAME-3664]
  • Improved mob behaviour in dungeons by increasing separation distance and scaling it with movement speed to prevent excessive clumping, enhancing both visual quality and gameplay challenge. [GAME-3709]
  • Ensured get_entity_component() consistently returns undefined upon failure, eliminating potential crashes caused by varied return states. This change impacts various game mechanics, including ability Minigun, dungeon runs, input modes, foraging, and mining. [TECH-7669]
  • Updated zone text display to appear only on hover or when standing in the zone, with a smooth fade-in and additional icons for clarity. This change excludes tutorial island where the text will remain visible at all times. [TECH-7728]
  • Improved the event button notification badge to show days and weeks for events lasting longer than hours, and added capability to display badges for multiple events to enhance transparency and user experience. Tooltip colours now match event types for better clarity. [GAME-3670]
  • Redesigned the rewards component for pioneer contracts tasks and map quest log for enhanced visibility and consistency. The new design removes borders and adds a subtle glow, improving the readability of currency, skill rewards, and item icons across the task board and map screen. [FEATURE-72]
  • Clarified that purchased event items, such as pets, can be lost if not moved from the inventory before entering dungeons with a bag wipe penalty. [TECH-7723]
  • Standardised the wording of tool error messages across various activities such as fishing, mining, hacking, and foraging for consistent user experience. Players will now receive clear messages when lacking the appropriate tool or when a tool of an insufficient tier is equipped. [GAME-2894]

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the Kusarigama ability logic that caused unexpected behaviour during gameplay. [GAME-3675]
  • Fixed several caught errors that were causing unexpected behaviours in-game, such as hanging processes or non-spawning elements, without crashing the game. [GAME-3674]
  • Fixed an issue where Exploding Bots did not properly follow players, improving their behaviour in both the open world and caves. [GAME-3679]
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when fighting ScrapClaw in dungeons with fewer than 10 combat rooms due to an error in sandstorm size tuning. The tuning now uses the last entry in the list for any additional combat rooms, preventing crashes. [GAME-3685]
  • Fixed an issue where crafted items were not delivered to player inventories after completion, despite materials being consumed. [TECH-7396, reported by greej]
  • Updated the ‘Purple Carrot’ to remove its incorrect consumable options, as it is intended to be used as a quest item and not for stamina restoration. [TECH-7724] Player: JamesSkatman
  • Fixed an issue where aluminium sheets processed by players were not claimable from the mail system after an update. [TECH-7747]
  • Fixed an issue where a pet follower could disappear from a player’s inventory due to an item stacking issue after a fishing event. [TECH-7647] (Reported by user AlexBlue)
  • Resolved an issue where the Precision L5 and L8 relics did not increase critical damage as intended. [TECH-7459]
  • Fixed an issue where players entering the Tier 3 Everdune beacon found no mobs or storm spawning, halting progression. [TECH-7432] (Reported by user: greej)
  • Fixed an issue where the dungeon death screen did not properly capture input, causing proximity interactions to override the death screen interactions. [GAME-3590]
  • Fixed an issue where the boss in the T3 Eastern Reach dungeon would get stuck in the storm, preventing dungeon completion. Resolved a problem where the relic ‘Patek’s Tritium Needle’ was no longer dropping after recent updates. [WEBB-1012] Reported by player Sebax11.
  • Fixed an issue where moving plants within an apartment caused them to become invisible to players. [TECH-7715] (Reported by BusterCherry)
  • Fixed an issue where the map quest task location did not automatically show when a quest was loaded as the default tracked quest. Now, the quest area highlights immediately upon opening the map. [GAME-3663]
  • Fixed an issue where Healing Pulse upgrades did not apply the correct flat +10 upgrade to healing, instead only increasing by 10% of the original heal value. Additionally, corrected the issue where relics for +1 pulses did not function correctly. The stats page now accurately displays upgrades for Healing Pulse. [GAME-3660]
  • Restored the ‘M’ keybind functionality to open the map, which resolves a regression issue. [GAME-3662]
  • Fixed an issue with PvE enemy radar padding to improve user experience. [GAME-3708]
  • Fixed an issue where the Bulkatron in
  • T3 Everdune stage 4 would not spawn due to a dungeon configuration loading error. [GAME-3690]
  • Resolved multiple issues with relics, ensuring abilities like ‘Healing Pulse’, ‘Chain Lightning’, and ‘Bombardment’ function properly with respective relics, as well as fixing ‘Sword’, ‘Greatsword’, and ‘Hammer’ abilities to benefit from ‘Strong Grip’ relic group. Adjusted ‘Crit Chance’ and ‘Crit Damage’ calculations to include base and percentage modifiers. [GAME-3648]
  • Fixed an issue where the boss Bulkatron would not spawn in Eastern Reach T1 due to a dungeon ID fetching error. [GAME-3691] Player: 01JKC3Y99ZAX3817SH14PDH3P5
  • Fixed loading issues in the Arcadia Approach route where players experienced ‘room not ready’ errors, map loading problems, and repeated connections. [QA-2340]
  • Fixed a bug where the difficulty scaling UI element would vanish when progressing to the second floor of a dungeon. [QA-2329]
  • Fixed an issue where mobs would return to the storm when the chased player disconnects, rather than targeting the next nearest player. Now, mobs will correctly target the nearest player, maintaining continuous engagement. [QA-2318]
  • Fixed an issue where the ability bar was not removed when quickly abandoning a dungeon, causing it to appear outside the dungeon. [QA-2319]
  • Fixed an issue where players would sometimes load into an empty room with no mobs and a broken timer when entering the tier 3 desert dungeon. [QA-2304]
  • Fixed an issue where Chain Lightning relics were not appearing in the relic selector when the Chain Lightning ability was active after being acquired through the random abilities feature in the tutorial dungeon. [QA-2257]
  • Fixed an issue where the Pyrosphere attack would visually explode on the player instead of the intended target position. [QA-1999]

⚖️ Balance Changes

  • Adjusted the knockback effect during relic selection in dungeons for parties of three, reducing its strength to ensure smoother gameplay. [QA-2336]
